3 Best Ways to Blowing up your Party Balloons

In this article we will show you the best ways to Blowing up Party Balloons.

What’s a Party without Balloons? They are inexpensive and have a big impact on setting the mood for parties. It is perhaps the most typical symbol of a celebration.

In this article we will share some tips and hints for filling party balloons. Please note that this is not a manufacturer’s guide, but a collection of tips we have gained from our own experiences.

No matter how you inflate balloons – whether with your mouth, a balloon pump, an electric inflator, or a helium tank – the process can be challenging.

Although you can blow up balloons with your mouth, it will be more time consuming and difficult.

Here are 3 ways to make the process easier and faster:

1. How to Blow Up Balloons with a Hand Pump

Hand pumps are great if you want to save your breath, but aren’t quite ready to invest in an electrical balloon inflator. You can get one of our affordable hand-held balloon pumps in our shop.

Pumps that pump air in both directions, such as dual action pumps, are a good choice since they inflate your balloon faster than one-way pumps.

Step 1

Slide the balloon neck over the nozzle of the balloon pump.

Step 2

Now let’s start pumping. As you hold the balloon in place with one hand, pull out the hand lever and press it back in. If you use a dual action pump, air will flow into the balloon when you pull and push the lever. Continue filling the balloon with air until it reaches the desired size.

Step 3

Pin the balloon neck closed after it has been inflated fully, then remove the balloon from the nozzle and tie a knot.

2. Using an Electric Balloon Inflator

You may want to invest in an Electric Balloon Inflator if you need to inflate a lot of balloons, such as for making a Balloon Garland. Inflating an 11″ ball takes a minute using a hand pump, but only 2 seconds with a compressor!

There are many electric balloon inflators available on Amazon, or you can get the Premium MicroAir by Premium. This is a great option since it is small and affordable.

Electric Balloon Inflator

How to use an Electric Balloon Inflator:

  1. Place the balloon on the pump’s nozzle
  2. Hold the balloon and the nozzle together
  3. Push the switch to turn on the electric pump
  4. Gently press down on the nozzle of the pump to start inflating the balloon
  5. Fill balloon to its right size
  6. When balloon is inflated, remove it from the nozzle
  7. Do not forget to turn off the electric pump once you are finished!

3. Inflating Balloons with a Helium Canister

helium tank

The Helium Balloon Canister makes it quick and easy to blow up balloons for any occasion. You can use this helium gas tank for latex and foil balloons, saving yourself the trouble of having to fill your balloons in a store.

How to inflate your balloons with a helium canister

Step 1

Take the tank out of the box by its handles.

Step 2

Position the tank so that the nozzle faces away from you. Rotate the handle three times counterclockwise.

Step 3

Hold the balloon firmly with both hands. Slide the balloon onto the nozzle by stretching the balloon opening.

Step 4

Pinch the balloon and press down on the nozzle. When you hear the hissing sound, that is helium being released from the tank to fill the balloon. Once you reach the desired size, release the nozzle to stop helium from escaping. Do not let go of the balloon.

Step 5

Pinch the balloon at the tip of the nozzle and slide it away from the nozzle shaft. Secure the balloon neck with a knot to prevent helium from escaping.

Step 6

Don’t let your helium-filled balloons escape your reach. Tie a ribbon or string where you knotted the balloon. Try tying them to a stationary object or using balloon weights.

Once you have inflated all the balloons you can, close the valve by turning the handle clockwise until it is tight.

Step 9

Store the tank in its original box.
