Ingredients:
1 pie crust
Pumpkin Pure ( 1 can )
Sugar ( 1/2 cup )
Salt ( 1/2 teaspoon)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Ground ginger ( 1/4 teaspoon )
Ground cloves ( 1/4 teaspoon )
2 eggs
1 cup evaporated milk
Instructions:
- 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- 2. In a large bowl, combine pumpkin puree, sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves.
- 3. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs and evaporated milk.
- 4. Add the egg mixture to the pumpkin mixture and stir until well blended.
- 5. Pour the mixture into the pie crust.
- 6. Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking for 45 minutes, or until the filling is set.
2. Candy corn
Ingredients:
A package of candy corn
Sugar ( 1 cup )
Syrup ( 1 cup )
Water ( 1 cup)
Vanilla extract ( 1 teaspoon)
Instructions:
- 1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
- 2. Combine candy corn, sugar, corn syrup, water and vanilla extract in a large pot over low heat.
- 3. Cook mixture stirring frequently until is melted and well combined.
- 4. Pour mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 5. Spread mixture evenly with a spatula.
- 6. Bake in oven for 45 minutes.
- 7. Remove from oven and let cool.
- 8. Once cooled, break into pieces and enjoy!
3. “Mummy” hot dogs
Prep: 10 mins – Cook: 15 mins
Servings: 8
Ingredients:
8 hot dogs
Yellow mustard
1 tube crescent rolls
Instructions:
- 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- 2. Separate crescent rolls into eight triangles.
- 3. Place a hot dog on the wide end of each triangle, then roll up.
- 4. After rolling hot dogs, place them on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes.
- 5. Place dots of mustard on the top of each for the eyes, nose, and mouth. Enjoy!
4. Graveyard trifle
This graveyard trifle recipe is the perfect spooky dessert for your Halloween party! It’s easy to make and features layers of chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, and whipped cream.
Additionally, if you want to impress your guests add some gummy worms and spiders!
Ingredients:
2 (6 ounce) Jell-O Chocolate Instant Pudding Mix
5 cups whole milk
1 Oreo cookies pack
A container of Cool Whip
1 Hersey’s chocolate bar
8 Milano double chocolate cookies (Tombstones)
1 Black icing tube to write on tombstones (found in backing area of most grocery stores)
12 gummy worms
Instructions:
- 1. Mix chocolate pudding according to the instructions on the box. Once it’s done refrigerate pudding until ready to layer.
- 2. If if you would like a richer and thicker pudding, use 1/2 cups less milk than indicated on the package.
- 3. In food processor mix entire package of cookies until a fine crumb appears. No visible white center should be present. Set mixture aside.
- 4. Grate chocolate bar and also set aside.
- 5. In an extra deep baking pan add the cookie mix, chocolate pudding, the grated chocolate bar and cool whip until you have at least two layers of each.
- 6. Save some cookie mix to sprinkle as final top layer. This is best when stored overnight or up to 24 hours before serving. (if storing over night – Do NOT add cookies or gummy worms they will get soggy.
- 7. Save the cookies and gummy worms as decoration just before serving.
Note : If you are making this recipe for a smaller group, you can divide it in half and serve it in individual cups.
5. Ghosts Cupcakes
Ingredients:
18 standard-size cupcakes
1 container chocolate frosting (16 oz) or homemade chocolate frosting (
Cornstarch
1 pkg white fondant (l lb 8 oz)
18 sphere lollipops
1 tube black decorating icing
Instructions
- Frost cupcakes and set aside. Lightly dust work surface with cornstarch and roll fondant a little thinner than ⅛ inch. Cut 18 1½-inch rounds and 18 4-inch rounds with cookie cutters. Knead scraps together and reroll, as necessary.
- Insert the stick of a lollipop into a block of Styrofoam (or half a potato or apple) to hold it steady. Place one 1½-inch fondant round over lollipop and pinch to close. Then place larger fondant round over the smaller one, pleating to make a ghost shape. Repeat for all lollipops. Place a ghost in the center of each cupcake by inserting the stick into the cake. Pipe black eyes on each.
6. Witch Finger Biscuits
Ingredients
butter, softened (1 cup)
confectioners’ sugar ( 1 cup )
1 egg
almond extract (1 teaspoon)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 ⅔ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
¾ cup whole almonds
1 tube red decorating gel
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine butter, sugar, egg, almond extract, and vanilla extract. With an electric mixer, beat together the butter, sugar, and eggs; gradually add the flour, baking powder, and salt, beating constantly. Refrigerate for about 20 to 30 minutes.
- The oven should be preheated to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
- Take small portions of dough out of the refrigerator. On a piece of waxed paper, scoop 1 heaping teaspoon at a time. Roll the dough into thin finger shapes using the waxed paper. Press one almond into one end of each cookie to give the appearance of a long fingernail. Squeeze cookie near the tip and again near the center of each to give the impression of knuckles. You can also cut into the dough with a sharp knife at the same points to help give a more finger-like appearance. Arrange the shaped cookies on the baking sheets.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the cookies are slightly golden in colour, 20 to 25 minutes.
- Remove the almond from the end of each cookie; squeeze a small amount of red decorating gel into the cavity; replace the almond to cause the gel to ooze out around the tip of the cookie.
